Martin County issued the following announcement on Aug. 23.
Martin County Utilities has issued a boil water notice due to a water main break on Indian River Drive.
The impacted area is from the Environmental Studies Center to the Mobil Gas station. The break has been
repaired and the water has been restored. As a precautionary measure, we are advising our customers to
boil water used for drinking, cooking, making ice, soda machines, brushing teeth or washing dishes for
the next 48 hours. A rolling boil of one minute is sufficient. As an alternative, bottled water may be used.
Following restoration of water service, samples of the water will be taken. If the results from the samples
are good the boil water notice will be rescinded. Sampling must continue until two consecutive samples
show no contamination.
Please contact Martin County Utilities at 772-221-1434 if you have any questions. We regret any
inconvenience that this temporary interruption of service may cause.
