Marilyn Schroeder Timmerman, 95, died peacefully on February 4, 2019, surrounded by her devoted family and caregivers at the Lee Residence in West Palm Beach, Florida.
A memorial service will take place on Saturday, February 9, 2019, at Lakeside Presbyterian Church in West Palm Beach at 11:00 AM followed by a reception to celebrate her life. A private burial will take place on Friday February 8, 2019.
Marilyn was born on April 29, 1923, in Illinois to Earl and Alvine Schroeder. They moved to West Palm Beach when she was eight years old. She later graduated from Palm Beach High School and then attended Agnes Scott College, earning a B.S. degree from the University of North Carolina. There she met the love of her life, Norris Watson Timmerman, better known as “Slats”. They married in 1946 and raised four daughters.
Marilyn was a charter member of Lakeside Presbyterian Church where she served as a deacon and choir member for over 50 years. She was a member of Chapter AA of the PEO Sisterhood for over sixty years, serving as President and other offices.
Marilyn is survived by four daughters: Lyn Timmerman, Carol Loveland, Lauren Abrams, Marti Kula and her husband, Don, seven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Slats, sister, June Scott, granddaughter, Kelly Loveland Gourley, and two son-in-laws, David Loveland and George Abrams preceded Marilyn in death.
Although Marilyn devoted most of her love, time, and energy to church and family, she was an avid reader; she enjoyed camping, spending time in her mountain home, and traveling the world with her adoring husband, Slats.
